Fighting Lower Plastics Prices

Let’s face it – prices for recyclable plastics are dropping. Consequently, recycling companies are becoming more selective about what they’ll accept for recycling, causing plastic recycling solutions to become scarcer.

In previous posts, we’ve talked about different reasons for why the scrap plastic markets are low, and last week I came across an article by Plastics News which I think does a nice job summing up the situation. While many of us have little control over things like lower oil prices or export demand, we can make a difference in plastic recycling by ensuring that our plastic streams are as clean as possible. Because of this, I encourage you to take a moment to read and share Plastic News’ article, “Lower Resin Prices Squeeze Recyclers.”
