Tyler Holloway

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Tyler brings a background in food waste hauling and solid waste management to his position at Northstar. Tyler got the composting bug early, growing up in the garden and learning from his grandmother to plant fish carcasses under the soil to ensure the best tomatoes. At SUNY Geneseo, his interest people’s multifaceted connections to the natural environment was born and he was inspired to jump headfirst into starting a food waste hauling business. Through his company, Empire Zero, Tyler helped grow the amount of diverted food waste in New York and Western Massachusetts. He also partnered with educational institutions and small and large businesses in a wide spectrum of commercial industries to divert food waste through composting. Before coming to Northstar, Tyler was a recycling coordinator for the City of Troy, New York, where he developed a program to implement their solid waste management plan.
EDUCATION: B.A. Geography, State University of New York at Geneseo.
TYLER AFTER WORK: Outside of work, Tyler enjoys spending quality time with his girlfriend and their animals. He also enjoys exploring new places, experimenting through cooking, experiencing the growing and changing world of craft beer, escaping to an island off the coast of Maine and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
