Chelsea Hoegberg

“Every bit of habitat we preserve, every tenth of a degree of warming we prevent, really does matter. Thankfully, I’m not motivated by hope, but rather a desire to be useful.”- Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Chelsea joins the Northstar organics team bringing her experience with project coordination in the medical research sector. With a desire to switch gears and to contribute to a more sustainable future, she returned to school and recently graduated with a M.S. focused on creating a sustainable food system. Feeling compelled by the massive issue of food waste, she wrote her thesis on the subject and is now eager to contribute to Northstar’s efforts to find solutions to divert and utilize waste streams.

EDUCATION: B.S. Human Biology, University of California San Diego. M.S. Sustainable Food Systems, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences

CHELSEA AFTER WORK: Outside of work, Chelsea finds happiness in time spent with her husband, two young daughters and their sweet dog. Recently transplanted to the Pacific Northwest, she and family will be dedicated to transforming their land into a little homestead in the years to come.
